To kick off the celebration on Monday, May 8th, Victor D. Treviño, City Mayor, presented an official proclamation recognizing May 8–12, 2023, as “National Economic Development Week in Laredo, Texas.” This designation was made in partnership with the Laredo Economic Development Corporation, MileOne International Business Assistance Center, and the City of Laredo Economic Development Department.

During the event, Humberto “Tito” Gonzalez Jr., P.E., TxDOT Director of Transportation Planning and Programming, delivered a dynamic keynote address.
